Who and why? This course is for those who manage teams that are affected by structural change in your organisation. Change is a necessary and inescapable part of working life. However, the problems faced by organisations and individuals undergoing change are usually multi-faceted and can include erosion of confidence and self-worth, emotional stress and demotivation associated with a loss of control, and fatigue associated with prolonged or continued change in a working environment. It is a challenge for any manager to find their own way of personally coping with change while at the same time helping others who are being affected and may be experiencing difficulty. |
Course overviewFollowing the research into loss and change, by attending the course you will learn about the different types of change, the transition curve, the four common responses to change and the strategic development curve. You will understand how any specific change fits into the overall long-term picture and how to communicate this to others in a way that helps them appreciate the purpose of it and the underlying plan. There is an emphasis on effective and emotionally intelligent communication which takes into account the difficulty some people experience in letting go of the old and embracing the new. |
